Peninsula Poverty Response (PPR) was founded in March 2012. It all started in a coffee shop with a small group of people who had the goal of working together to bring an end to the adverse effects of poverty on the Long Beach Peninsula. We are a non-profit charity and received our 501(c)(3) status in July 2014. Since that time, PPR has grown to a coalition encompassing many different groups that include representatives from the Ocean Beach School District, Wellspring Community Network, Peninsula Church of the Nazarene, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ocean Park Lutheran Church, Pack2School, and many other organizations. PPR is primarily volunteer driven and focuses on coordination of community events to raise funds and provide much needed services.
