Project Peninsula Connect

   –serving our neighbors in need

Project Community Connect is a one-day, point-in-time event created to provide no/low incomes guests with much-needed free services and tangible goods. Local, state and national agencies provide guests with the opportunity to sign-up for food stamps, housing assistance, and other services,  access Veterans services, and educational services. Free medical, dental, vision services are available to guests, as well as veterinary care for their beloved animal companions.

Guests spend the day with a guide who helped them navigate the event, ensuring they received a warm meal, a haircut if desired, but most importantly, they provide a connection with fellow community members who genuinely care about their well-being. The truth is, our community does a lot with a little. Project Community Connect, in its seventh year, and served 189 individuals this year (2020).

In 2020:

  • 189 individuals attended
  • 33 were children
  • 71 lived in RVs without services
  • 10 lived in vehicles
  • 7 lived outside
  • 4 lived in abandoned buildings
  • 1 was in jail
  • All others were housed or doubled up with family and friends
